HOLYOKE, Colo. (Feb. 7)
– Six dates for three IMCA divisions are on the 2008 schedule
at Phillips County Raceway.
First point races for newly-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars
and Hobby Stocks at the half-mile dirt track are Sunday, May
18. All three classes are also on May 25, June 22, July 4,
July 25 and Sept. 20 programs.
The Blood, Sweat and Tears Modified Series comes to Holyoke as
part of the May 25 and July 4 cards. The Phillips County Fair
show is on July 25.
Points earned at Phillips County figure toward SuperFlow
Central Region standings for Modifieds and Jet Racing Northern
Region standings for both Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.
“We were looking for cohesiveness in the rules and race
procedures with other tracks in the area. It’s important that
we do what’s best to meet the needs of the drivers,” explained
promoter Garrett Sporhase. “We talked with other IMCA
promoters at a meeting in McCook, Neb., and everyone looked at
what was best not for a particular track but for all the
tracks involved.”
The BST Series visited Phillips County three times in 2007.
This year’s Independence Day special also sports monster
trucks and a truck pull.
